Elizabeth Robertson, of Louisiana, purchased the winning "30X Cash 9th Edition" scratch ticket from a retailer in the New Haven County town of Orange when she and her husband pulled off the parkway for a cup of coffee, Connecticut Lottery said in an announcement this week.
She said she scratched the ticket while her husband was driving the car, and the couple made a stop so a retailer could scan the ticket and check the prize amount.
"This is the highest ticket I ever won on, and it came at just the right time," Robertson said. "We're in the process of buying a house, so this will go right toward the down payment."
